Not available. The streaming and camera features were never finished.
Not available
ALiVE 3 is in active development. This briefing describes work in progress, and the behaviour it covers is subject to change as testing continues. Check the changelog at the foot of the page for what has moved recently.
Overview
xStream is not available and there is nothing for a tester to try. It is described here so that nobody spends time hunting for it. The intention was support for recording and broadcasting a mission: an automated cinematic camera that followed the action, a live position feed to the War Room map, and per-client access control for a camera operator. None of it was completed. The module is hidden from the editor and nothing starts it. More to the point, the parts that would have talked to the outside world do not exist: there is no code anywhere in it that sends a position anywhere, and nothing that contacts a streaming service. Eleven of its twelve settings are also mis-declared, so even the menu it was meant to drive could not read them; the Enable Debug setting is the exception, since it works and defaults to No.
Capabilities
The automated camera, the live map position feed and the client access control are all unavailable. Nothing in the module runs, and the live map feed in particular was never written, so there is no partial version of it to try.
Recent work
Status
This is not a repair. The camera work, the position feed and the streaming link would all need building, and the streaming side targeted a service whose interface has been replaced entirely since this code was written. No decision has been taken on whether to do it.
Testing
There is nothing to test. The module does not appear in the editor, nothing starts it during a mission, and no camera, map feed or streaming behaviour exists to observe.
